Golden Grove Road

CONSTRUCTION works on the $20 million upgrade of Golden Grove are officially underway after pre-project nightworks began recently.
The utility works have started near the One Tree Hill Road roundabout and will continue at various places along the road before major construction works start later this year.
Member for King Paula Luethen said the project will be a major boost for the local region and she’s already spoken to many residents who are excited by the start of the works. “I still have a huge number of constituents asking me about the status of the Golden Grove Road upgrade and its fantastic to see some movement on this very important project,” she said. “The local community has been waiting 20 years for this upgrade and I’m pleased to be part of a government who is not only listening to the views of the area, but also delivering for the people of King.”
The upgrade includes the construction of a roundabout at the Golden Grove Road and Hancock Road intersection, sheltered right-hand turning lanes, indented bus bays, dedicated bike lanes, as well improvements to the Golden Grove Road/The Grove Way/Yatala Vale Road intersection. Council will also contribute to its portion of the upgrade by providing further funds for footpaths and stormwater drainage infrastructure.
Ms Luethen said seeing workers on the ground with shovels out is a credit to all the community members who supported her petition prior to the 2018 State Election. “This has been a community campaign which has helped get the attention of the State Government and I’m proud to be part of the team who is delivering this project,” she said.
“I’m urging my constituents to remain patient during the construction works and to continue to support the many wonderful businesses situated along Golden Grove Road because the end result will be worth the wait.”
